How fast does THIS THING go?

You would be surprised, actually.

Madison found this turtle by the lake at the dog park. The thing is, turtles are not afraid of giant schnauzers. Not even a little bit.

They just turn into giant rocks. And they wait it out.

When the coast is clear, you should see them move. With their stupid looking legs and their stubby little tail wagging like a propeller. And then, PLOP right into the water.

Too bad Man-dad missed getting the photo of Madison jumping into the water right after the turtle. But you see, turtles can sink like a lead weight, and giant schnauzers, luckily, do not.

One early morning walk we came up on a turtle. Dad didn't notice it at 4:30 in the morning. However, when Deacon jumped about two feet straignt into the air when the turtle moved, startled Dad.

We spent the rest of they day giving Deacon grief.

I wanted to jump in the lake after a turtle last week but Mom wouldn't let me. She said it was a wetland and dogs weren't allowed in the water. What kind of sense does that make?

We've had some turtle encounters too -- particularly when they get disoriented and think they're heading towards the lake but are really going away from it.

Our Dogdad has rescued one or two -- and we've helped!!

We don't get turtles on Scottish beaches but after a particularly big storm Jake brought me a washed-up starfish. I think he thought it was a toy ...
