Soooooooo Sorry H-Mom :(

These things are accidents:

Bumping heads
Leaving cupboard doors open at bad moments
Slamming hands in doors
Dropping something on a foot
Pinching fingers in drawers
Splashing hot water in the kitchen
Konking someone on the chin

There are hundreds of them. Followed by "OMG I am sooooooo sorry ... are you okay?"

Well.

Madison had a huge crunchy brown palm frond. A really long one ... eight or nine feet at least. And she was chomping on it, with great gusto, macerating the stem with her giant schnauzer jaws. She has teeth that are something with which to be contended. She can demolish a toy in seconds, strip a beef shank bone in minutes.

H-Mom had what, at the moment, seemed like a great idea: she pinned the frond to the ground with one foot and grabbed the end to pop it at an angle and snap it short and toss it into the lake. For fetching.

H-Mom's grip failed. The frond had surprisingly sharp edges. H-Mom grabbed it again, with intention. Madison's jaws slipped. The frond was suddenly not cooperating with her destruction-by-huge-white-teeth program. Madison was excited. The frond seemed to be fighting back. This was good. Better than good, it was palm-frond-war.

And then Madison CHOMPED down, right on H-Mom's fingers.

There was a scream. And lots of blood. Madison let go of the frond and stopped cold. H-Mom ran to get one of the little green poop bags to wrap her finger tightly. Madison followed sheepishly, the palm forgotten. H-Mom's fingernail is split open horizontally, the tip of her finger gashed.

"OMG, H-Mom, I am sooooooooooo sorry."

These things are accidents.

Not to be confused with dog aggression, dog biting human or any behavior issue.

That definitely sounds like an "oops" moment! Sorry that both of you were subjected to it but it's always good to know that accidents are just that, accidents. Get better soon, H-Mom!

Oh Madison...we've had that happen here too...but our jaws aren't quite that massive...we know you felt terrible bout it...hooge kisses to you hooman for her finger...her nail might fall off...I've heard it's the latest look for Spring...

As for the photographer...well, this wasn't 'xactly the first time this has happened, me gettin stuck under the deck...it happened last December on a really cold night (Monday night footieball!!) and Daddy had to get the shovel and dig me out. Mumsie blocked the tunnel with hooge rocks...well, I managed to dig through those without a lot of trouble....but, she was less than excited to dig me out again...so she grabbed the camera for a few pix and was blown away when Scruffy (who we swear had no brain) proceeded to dig me out in about 2 minutes flat. Stan just sat there like a stone. She just took pic after pic cheerin' Scruffy on...I hafta admit he was very proud of himself...we terriers don't often get to dig another animal outta a hole anymore since there's not too many foxes around here....we figure he was faster than she woulda been with a shovel....

Sigh...she put a HOOGE concrete brick in there now...Stanley tried to dig it out later and she went balistic...three terriers keep the hoomans hopping!!!

Love ya lots,

Laciegirlie

One of us has done the same thing - Lilly bit Mom once when she was trying to play-bite Carrleigh - Madison, she knows exactly how sorry you feel. It makes you want to cry when you bite your Mom.

Our servant had 14 horses before us. It's all a matter of perspective. Horse owies are way worse. So don't worry about it, Madison. All humans are clutzes - they can't help it.

Ouch! That looks painful. Poor H-Mom. We know Madison didn't mean it.

That had to hurt. We haven't bit Dad that hard. Then of course accidents do happen.

Owwww, that looks and sounds painful. We are sure it was an accident, but still, it makes mom's fingers hurt just thinking about it.

Oh no, Madison! You are growing up and becoming a big strong girl, you have to be super-duper-careful not to hurt your poor wussy little humans!

Hope your H-Mom is ok. Remember, with great strength comes great responsibility...

Hugs, Biggie
